Optional professional learning: Our year-long program is intended to support both teachers experienced with curriculum and tools and teachers who are new to. Teachers who are able to independently write and debug an error-free function (or procedure) with one or more parameters and that uses conditional logic, loops, and an array (or a list) will be best positioned to use our CSA curriculum with students. Prior knowledge: For students, Computer Science Principles, Computer Science Discoveries, and/or a similar introductory computer science course. Contains 9 units, which includes an AP Exam Prep unit. After this promising start, the Powercoders community kept on growing and we are currently running schools in Switzerland, Italy and Spain.Computer Science A invites students to learn programming using Java and can be taken after completing an introductory course such as Computer Science Principles or Computer Science Discoveries. The first Powercoders program started in Bern beginning of 2017 with an overwhelming amount of volunteers participating as Job Coaches or IT trainers and with many IT companies who were enthusiastic about offering internships. 
Inspired by their projects and driven by the energy to help, the idea of Powercoders was born, with the mission of giving people their independence back, reducing social welfare costs and addressing the shortage of talent in the IT-industry. Founder Christian Hirsig met two other entrepreneurs in the US: one with a cooking school for refugees, one with a coding academy for women. Training is available for these systems: RFID and RTLS-Systems. Certainty in decision-making, skills, and power of innovation all this helps you benefit from training for the solution strategies of the future. At this time, the refugee crisis in Europe was all over the news. SITRAIN training is conducted by certified experts with extensive hands-on experience. It all started with a trip to the United States in 2016. Powercoders is a non-profit association and the program ist self-funded and free of charge for the selected participants. We believe in promoting equal opportunities for diverse talents in the IT industry.
